French crew Dirty Soundsystem recently did a mix for the Fairtilizer blog inspired by the great state of California. The Dirty Soundsystem is Guillaume Sorge and Clovis Goux (and sometimes Benjamin Morando as a guest) and it´s more a compilation of nice tunes then a mix.

Here is what the man himself had to say:

"I made this special mix thinking of my future holidays in California with ‘Canardo’. Sun, sea & seals are expected. This is music for psychic road warriors. The end of the trip is taking place in Italy. Don’t ask me why."

DANIEL WANG ON BEATS IN SPACE

German disco don Daniel Wang made a contribution to New York radio show Beats In Space a few weeks ago. Hoast Tim Sweeney and Mr. Wang also shoot the shit on everything from being "a boytoy to big strong Germanic men" to what songs you can "only play in a gay context". But it´s unmistakably disco all the way, and apparently a chance for Mr. Wang to play songs he can´t play in a "club context".

It´s kind of an old school mix like back in the disco days where they talked in between tracks. Imagine that.

The debut album from Brazil´s CSS was pretty great, but the new album entitled "Donkey" hasn´t been able to live up to the hype created by the first effort. However there are a few glimpse of the greatness that was Cansei De Ser Sexy on "Donkey". PONI HOAX

French indie (electro) pop band Poni Hoax just came out with a new and very wonderful album called "Images of Sigrid". It will appeal to people who love the music of 80´s acts like ROXY MUSIC, TALK TALK, TALKING HEADS and others like them. As to who this SIGRID is; Word around the camp fire has it that it was a Norwegian exchange student in Paris to study design that the group gang banged. But it´s just a rumor.

My favorite track is "Antibodies", very wholesome. The album is out in France, git it here.

EINE KLEINE NACHT MUSIK

Here is the new project from British housemeister Riton eloquently titled Eine Kleine Nacht Musik after Mozart´s famous composition by the same name (Eine Kleine Nachmusik) also known as "the Serenade No. 13 for strings in G major". The project is said to be a tribute to the krautrock genre, and is out now on Modular Records (buy it on itunes). The first single from the album is a housey rendering of Rondo Veneziano´s 1981 and 1983 Uk top 60 hit "La Serenissma".

I MONSTER

I Monster is an alternative synth pop-ish group from Sheffield in the UK. They have four albums on their conscience, the second from 2003, "Neveroddoreven", is the focus of this post, more specifically the track "Who Is She?". This song made an impact on me when I heard it back in ´03 and I have or some reason forgotten about it since. Today it came to my attention again when roaming around the Discogs site, and now I wanna share.
